2013 Macedon Ranges Wines exhibition results
The Macedon Ranges Wine Exhibition for 2013 was held on Thursday 3rd October and the presentation dinner on Friday 4th October.
The dinner presentation event was held at Cope-Williams Winery, Romsey, an excellent venue with a matching six course dinner.
The Peoples' Choice Award as voted for by the public attending the presentation dinner was the 2013 Hanging Rock Sauvignon Blanc. A piece of history took place as MC, John Ellis, proudly presented the award to his son, Rob Ellis, who has taken over the role of winemaker.
Judging the wines were Jeremy Dineen (chief judge), who was ably assisted by Ulrich Grey-Smith and Lisa Jenkins along with a number of volunteer associates and stewards from the ranks of the Macedon Ranges Wine producers.
The Exhibition is open only to Macedon Ranges wines. 120 wines were entered in the 6 classes, 4 more than in 2012.
The overall wine of the show as selected by the judges and awarded the Laurie Williams Trophy was the 2004 Chanters Ridge Blanc de Noir Sparkling Wine.
