The Macedon Ranges Wine 2012 Exhibition was held on Thursday 4th October and the presentation dinner on Friday 5th October. The dinner presentation event was held at Grange Cleveland Resort/Conference Centre at Lancefield, an excellent venue with a matching six course dinner.
The Peoples' Choice Award as voted for by the public attending the presentation dinner was the 2005 Granite Hills Riesling.
Judging the wines were Jeni Port (chief judge), who was ably assisted by Jeremy Dineen and Michael McNamara along with a number of volunteer associates and stewards from the ranks of the Macedon Ranges Wine producers.
The Exhibition is open only to Macedon Ranges wines, however, there were no shortage of entries! 116 wines were entered in the 6 classes. The overall wine of the show as selected by the judges and awarded the Laurie Williams Trophy was the 2006 Cope-Williams Chardonnay.
