Wilimee is one of the oldest vineyards in the Macedon Ranges. Planted in 1982, to Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, Wilimee’s unique characters lies within its soil. Planted on 500+million year old Cambrian soil (the same soil as Heathcote’s fame), Wilimee is the only vineyard in the Macedon Ranges planted on the Cambrian, and at an elevation of 600m, certainly the highest vineyard on the Cambrian in Australia.
Wilimee is ancient, its old vines, bespoke wines, reflecting the vineyards soil types. Grown and made by Ben Ranken and Sally Richardson, country kids ourselves, we feel so fortunate to be back on the land raising our children with their toes in the soil.
