Limestone Track Vineyard was established in 1989 by John and Judy Burford and family. It is situated amongst picturesque rolling hills just off the Midland Highway north of Mt Franklin between Daylesford and Castlemaine. First plantings were Cabernet Sauvignon in 1989, then plantings of Shiraz in 1990 and 1991. Further plantings of Merlot, Tempranillo and Chardonnay were added in later years.
All the fruit from the vines is handpicked at the desired sugar levels and using traditional wine making methods we consider the wines can truly be classified as hand crafted. The care given to our vines all year round and the adoption of organic vineyard practices combined with the attention to detail during the wine making process, ensures that for all wines every drop will be enjoyed.
The small tasting room boasts breathtaking views to Mount Tarrengower and adjacent views of the upper Loddon state forest. Visitors are made welcome to enjoy an intimate tasting of our wines and a brief history of the vineyard and the surrounding area.
Our wines are finished with minimal filtration and preservatives
