More international awards for Pegeric

Macedon ranges vineyard, Pegeric is one of the smallest wine  producers in Australia making around 1200 bottles each year.

In 2010, Pegeric pinot noirs were ranked the Best Australian wine with Braised Abalone and the Equal best Australian wine with Dim Sum in the wine and food matching classes at the 2010 Cathay Pacific Hong Kong International Wine and Spirit Competition.

In 2011, after winning medals at the 2011 International Wine Challenge (IWC) in London and the 2011 Japan Wine Challenge Pegeric has recently been awarded a Bronze medal in the 2011 Shanghai International Wine challenge (SIWC) for the 1999 Pegeric pinot noir and a Silver medal for the 1998 Tumbetin cabernet shiraz blend.

Big deal you may say! Well its hard to win any medal when you are judged against the best wines in the world. For example, some  great iconic Australian wines to also win Bronze in Shanghai were:

• 2006 Orlando St Hugo cabernet sauvignon
• 2005 Orlando Johann shiraz cabernet
• 2007 Brokenwood  Graveyard shiraz
• 2008 Woodlands “Shelley Anne’’cabernet sauvignon

Pegeric is proud that 12 and 13 year old wines can still be competetive with the best wines in the world . It also confirms once again that the Macedon Ranges produces wines that can be cellared confidently and will improve for many years . That is the reason why Pegeric bottle ages wines before they are released.
