Gisborne Peak Winery named in Top 10 Cellar Doors

The Age Good Food GuideGisborne Peak Winery is delighted and honoured to be named in the Top 10 Cellar Doors in Victoria in the newly released Age Good Food Guide 2014

The Age Good Food Guide is considered to be the 'foodies bible' and is a wealth of information for all gourmet food and wine lovers.

Owners Bob and Barbara Nixon have worked hard over the past 13 years to position the vineyard and cellar door to become a well known tourism attraction in the Macedon Ranges drawing visitors from Melbourne and surrounds, interstate and international.  As well, the cellar door is much loved by locals who appreciate the warm and welcoming atmosphere, the friendly staff, the array of cellar door foods to match the estate grown wines and the innovative marketing and special events the winery conducts both on and off-site.

Gisborne Peak recently won a Gold Medal and the Trophy for their 2009 Riesling in the Macedon Ranges Wine Exhibition and two Gisborne Peak Chardonnays were in the top 4 of their class also. Bob Nixon says that great wine can only come from great grapes and that all the wines reflect Bob’s meticulous attention to his vineyard.  The winery eco-cottages have also proved popular and the fourth cottage is almost ready to accept its first guests.

"It’s a combination of hard work, loving what we do, caring about the visitor experience and wanting to show off our property and the Macedon Ranges to visitors”, says Barbara.

“We are absolutely astounded  and flattered to be included in the Top 10 Cellar Doors in Victoria, especially when named by the quite prestigious Age Good Food Guide.  We couldn’t be more proud!"
